Tattooing wasn’t just a career I stumbled into—it became a passion that completely changed my life. Learning to tattoo from your partner wasn’t always easy but with a whole lot of determination has grown into a career I’m incredibly proud of. Every day I get the opportunity to create something meaningful for someone else, and that’s a responsibility I never take for granted. Family has always been at the center of everything I do, and that’s especially true with this shop. Mama Jan’s is named after my grandmother, Janet, who played a huge role in shaping me. Carrying her name into this space means more to me than I can put into words—it’s a reminder of where I come from and what really matters. I’ve always been drawn to bold, timeless tattooing, but I enjoy the challenge of bringing all kinds of ideas to life. No matter the subject or style my goal is always the same: to make tattoos that are solid, honest, and built to stand the test of time. Opening this shop with Emma is more than just starting a business—it’s the next chapter in a story we’ve been building together for years. We met because of tattooing, built a family together, and now we’re creating the kind of shop we always dreamed of: one where everyone who walks through the door feels welcome, respected, and right at home.
